Urban Outfitters Soars on Q2 Earnings
Retailer Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ: URBN) released its fiscal second-quarter earnings results after the closing bell on Monday. In the after-hours trading session, the stock has soared in the wake of the results, adding better than 15 percent at last check.
The company reported net income of $61.29 million or $0.42 per share, compared to $56.69 million or $0.35 per share, in last year's corresponding quarter. This came in well ahead of analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.33.
Net sales in the period were up to $676.27 million, versus $609.18 million last year. This also came in ahead of analysts' estimates of $671.58 million.
