Alpha Natural Resources
ANR posted a wider second-quarter loss.
The company posted a quarterly loss of $2.2 billion, or $10.14 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $50 million, or $0.32 per share. Excluding charges and other costs, Alpha Natural Resources posted a loss of $72 million, or $0.33 per share.
Its revenue climbed 13% to $1.8 billion. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.27 per share on revenue of $1.93 billion.
Alpha Natural Resources shares closed at $6.90 yesterday.
