UPDATE: Cognizant Posts Rise In Q2 Profit

reported a rise in its second-quarter profit. Its quarterly net income surged to $251.9 million, or $0.82 per share, up from $208 million, or $0.67 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, Cognizant earned $0.88 per share. Its revenue surged 21% to $1.8 billion. Cognizant shares closed at $57.86 on Friday.
