Centrica H1 Adjusted Profit Rises 15%

reported a 15% rise in its adjusted operating profit for the first half. Centrica's adjusted operating profit for the period rose to GBP1.45 billion, from GBP1.26 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting an operating profit of GBP1.45 billion. Centrica's net profit attributable to equity shareholders jumped to GBP990 million, from GBP468 million, while revenue climbed 4% to GBP12.0 billion from GBP11.5 billion. Centrica shares closed at $19.44 yesterday.
