Hutchison Whampoa Posts Surge In 2011 Net Profit

reported a strong rise in its net profit last year. Hutchison Whampoa's net profit for the period climbed to HK$56.02 billion, versus a restated net profit of HK$20.18 billion, in the year-ago period. Analysts were expecting a net profit of HK$56.28 billion. Hutchison Whampoa's revenue surged 22% to HK$387.72 billion from HK$319.10 billion. Hutchison Whampoa also declared a final dividend of HK$1.53, versus HK$1.41 in the previous year. Hutchison Whampoa shares closed at $20.20 yesterday.
