The company's adjusted loss came in at $0.07 per share. Its revenue surged to $2.1 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.27 per share on revenue of $2.16 billion. Alpha Natural shares dropped 4.39% to $18.95 in pre-market trading.
