- The stock has surged 9.38% after the company raised its 2012 earnings guidance. CA now sees earnings per share of at least $2.21 versus previous guidance of no more than $2.18. Wall Street analysts currently have consensus EPS estimates for CA of $2.15.

- This stock is trading up in sympathy with Illumina

, which has jumped 46% to $54.97 after receiving a hostile takeover bid from Roche. LIFE shares have gained 3.24% on Wednesday to $48.84 on 311% of the normal average volume.

- ALKS was upgraded at MKM Partners from Neutral to Buy today and the shares are getting a boost on heavy volume. ALKS has added nearly 6% on volume which is running 225% above the daily average.

- FLDM also appears to be benefiting from the ILMN takeover bid, as the stock has surged 7.38% to $14.85 on heavy volume.
