Alphabet Inc.‘s GOOG GOOGL Google Pixel Watch has released its March update — and it has several exciting features, including Fall Detection and a new Digital Clock update that works even when the device is “powered down.”
What Happened: All Google Pixel Watches running Wear OS 3.5 can now avail of the latest software updates, including “numerous bug fixes and improvements” and features highlighted in the March Feature Drop post.
Simply put, Pixel Watch users can now avail of the Fall Detection feature, color blindness modes and Mono-audio, which limits the disorientation of split-audio.
Regarding the Fall Detection feature, the company said, “Your Pixel Watch now has fall detection which can detect if you’ve taken a hard fall and connect you to emergency services. Once connected to emergency services, your Pixel Watch will play an automated message to request help to wherever you are.”
Additionally, the update introduced a new low battery mode that allows users to check the time when the Pixel Watch is powered down. Users can push the crown and the time will appear alongside the red low battery indicator.
Google has also improved the touch sensitivity of the Pixel Watch, providing a better user experience for those who have opted to use screen protectors to safeguard their device against scratches and cracks.
Moreover, the always-on-display or AOD feature has also received updates and can now be activated by turning the crown, even if it is disabled.
The Clock app will receive a PlayStore update in the upcoming weeks, addressing issues regarding delayed or false alarms.
