Lithium Americas (NYSE: LAC) shares are trading higher on Monday in sympathy with Piedmont (NYSE: PLL) after Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLAsigned a deal to procure lithium from Piedmont.

Lithium Americas is a Canadian resource company. It operates various projects namely Cauchari-Olaroz lithium brine project in Jujuy, Argentina and Thacker Pass lithium claystone project in Nevada.

Lithium Americas shares are trading up 21.19% at $10.35 during the time of publication on Monday. The stock has a 52-week high of $11.22 and a 52-week low of $1.92.
