  • The Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ: ABCO) rose 19.8 percent to $64.95 in pre-market trading on a Bloomberg report that UnitedHealth Group Inc (NYSE: UNH) and Vista Equity partners are near a deal to buy the company, according to sources. The sources say UNH would acquire ABCO's health-care division, while Vista would acquire the education unit for as much as $1.5 billion.
  • Aileron Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: ALRN) rose 10.9 percent to $14.75 in pre-market trading after gaining 8.04 percent on Thursday.
  • Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCR) shares rose 9.4 percent to $17.35 in pre-market trading after the company reported the review of strategic alternatives. The company said strategic alternatives could include sale or other transaction.
  • NRG Energy Inc (NYSE: NRG) shares rose 7.8 percent to $17.63 in pre-market trading after dropping 2.62 percent on Thursday.
  • Vistra Energy Corp (NYSE: VST) rose 4.4 percent to $17.20 in pre-market trading after falling 1.61 percent on Thursday.

  • Hecla Mining Company (NYSE: HL) fell 6.9 percent to $4.60 in pre-market trading after dropping 1.00 percent on Thursday.
  • CGG SA (ADR) (NYSE: CGG) fell 6.8 percent to $4.32 in pre-market trading after slipping 4.32 percent on Thursday.
  • Allied World Assurance Company Hldgs Ltd (NYSE: AWH) shares fell 6.1 percent to $49.79 in pre-market trading after declining 1.03 percent on Thursday.
