Benzinga heard chatter about micro-cap patents owner Network-1 Technologies Inc NTIP earlier Tuesday.
In order to check the veracity of the rumors, Benzinga contacted the company’s CEO, who confirmed that the company’s ‘464 patent claim against Alphabet Inc GOOG GOOGL’s Google and YouTube remains valid, after Google lost the CBM final determination.
A document from the United States Patent and Trademark Office explained that “The ’464 Patent relates to identifying a work, such as a digital audio or video file, without the need to modify the work… This identification can be accomplished through the extraction of features from or about the work, and comparison of those extracted features with records of a database or library… Thereafter, an action may be determined based on the identification determined.”
At last check, Network-1 was up 0.37 percent at $2.68.
