7 Things We Learned About Google's Daydream View VR Headset

Innovation and forward thinking is nothing new for Alphabet Inc GOOGL, so there was a ton of anticipation leading into the company's hardware event today.

We learned more about Google's upcoming smartphone, the Pixel, Google Assistant, some new Smart Home hardware options, and their soon-to-be-released virtual reality headset, the DayDream View VR.

Here are seven things we learned about the DayDream View.

• It will go on sale for $79 in November.
• It uses your phone – starting with the Pixel – all you do is drop it in and close the latch.
• Comfort was one of Google's top priorities. It's made of fabric, "soft and cozy", and 30 percent lighter than the competition.
• It will be available in slate at launch, with snow and crimson in the coming months.
• Google's been working with Netflix, Hulu and HBO to offer content libraries on the DayDream VR.
• Google has over 50 partners, which will offer APPs and games on the DayDream before January.
• Google is teaming up with J.K. Rowling for "Fantastic Beasts," an exclusive VR experienced based on Warner Bro.'s upcoming trilogy in the Harry Potter universe.
