It's Lit! Apple Shows Interest In Car Startup

Apple Inc. AAPL has been seeking outside assistance on its car project after laying off several employees earlier this month.

According to the New York Times, Apple has also displayed an interest in acquiring San Francisco startup, Lit Motors, which has developed a electric self-balancing motorcycle. The company has already hired many former Lit Motors engineers.

Apple's secretive car project has experienced many up and downs, but with recent talks surfacing surrounding potential acquisitions or partnerships with high-end automotive technology companies, we could see some big Apple news soon.

There were also reports that Apple was interested in acquiring McLaren, but the latter denied those rumors.
