In fact, the retail partners are already taking pre-orders today and will ship the device when it is available in late September. By fall, demonstrations of the product will be available in store across Europe and Canada.

The suggested retail price in the UK is £549 and €699 in other European countries.

Each device comes with the popular virtual reality platformer 'Lucky's Tale,' and hundreds of free 3D 360 videos and VR movies, in addition to a constantly expanding collection of made-for-VR games and experiences on the Oculus Store.

"Europe and Canada are home to some of the most ambitious, creative, and inspiring studios creating VR content today, from Crytek and Ubisoft, to Slightly Mad and many more," Facebook said in its blog post. "We're thrilled to make their awesome work available to even more fans worldwide."
