According to Comicbook.com, a much needed new feature will be added that should resolve some of the biggest complaints — the lack of PokéStops and Pokémon Gyms in rural areas.
Niantic, the game's developer, used the Portal locations from a prior game it made, Ingress, as the source code for the PokéStops and Gyms. As such, geographic areas that didn't show many active Ingress players were reflected in the Pokémon GO game.
Comicbook.com stated that Niantic has now unveiled a new system in which users can request a PokéStop and Gym in rural areas. Users can visit the game's support page and fill in a brief firm to request a local landmark or business to be added to the game's map.
The same form can also be used by business owners or organizations, museums and other entities to submit a request to have their location removed from the platform.
Shares of Nintendo's ADR-listed stock were trading lower by 0.19 percent at $30.40 ahead of Friday's market open.
