The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Silver: This industry slipped 1.2 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Mines Management, Inc. MGN, which fell 2.7 percent. Mines Management shares have jumped 252.63 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 1.79 percent in the same period.
  • Auto Parts Stores: This industry declined 0.7 percent by 11:00 am with AutoZone, Inc. AZO moving down 0.7 percent. AutoZone shares have surged 18.15 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 1.79 percent in the same period.
  • Catalog & Mail Order Houses: This industry fell 0.6 percent by 11:00 am ET. Acorn International, Inc. (ADR) ATV shares dropped 2.7 percent in today's trading. Acorn shares have dropped 7.00 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 1.79 percent in the same period.
  • Gold: The industry dropped 0.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was DRDGOLD Ltd. (ADR) DRD, which declined 5.5 percent. JP Morgan downgraded DRDGOLD from Neutral to Underweight.
