IBM Cloud Is The Second Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS) Provider Globally

International Business Machines Corp. IBM quoted International Data Corporation (IDC) to say that its Cloud was ranked the second among global IaaS provider. This was the IDC's global Semi-Annual Public Cloud Services Tracker for the second half of the last year.

IBM pointed that the IDC tracker looked at both individual cloud service providers, as well as, overall market revenue and at the same time assess the complete gamut of Infrastructure as a Service capabilities. That included provisioning servers, storage and networking options.

The tech firm's Chief Technology Officer for Cloud, Jim Comfort, commented, "We're glad to see IDC recognize the momentum IBM Cloud is making as our investments in data center expansion continue to pay off. We're seeing customer uptake across the board for all our IaaS capabilities, which allows them to easily pick and scale the IT resources they need to create their ideal public, private or hybrid cloud environments. It all comes down to enabling choice and providing the right mix of services."

The stock traded 0.59 percent up on Monday.
