CONSOL Energy Said to Draw Interest from Noble Energy

Shares of CONSOL Energy CNX surged higher Wednesday, on unconfirmed market chatter of an approach by Noble Energy NBL. "Sources" said Noble could pay around $22.00 per share for Consol Energy. Spokespersons for for Consol Energy and Noble Energy did not respond to requests for comment. Consol Energy closed at $16.57 on Wednesday, up 4.74%. Kohl's Shares Run on Going Private Rumor The Rumor:
Shares of Kohl's KSS spiked sharply higher Wednesday, following unconfirmed market chatter that the company had obtained financing for a 'going private' deal. "Sources" said the retailer had canceled out of next week's JP Morgan event. Kohl's CFO confirmed to Bloomberg that they did cancel out of the JP Morgan confernce, due to poor attendance. Kohl's closed Wednesday at $37.76, up 2.78%. Google Acquires Moodstocks The Deal:
Moodstocks announced Wednesday, that it has been acquired by Google GOOGL. Moostocks provides image recognition and allows smartphones to recognize what they are pointed at. Financial details were not disclosed. Google closed at $708.97 on Wednesday, up $4.08. Nortek to be Acquired by Melrose Industries for $86.00/Share in Cash The Deal:
Nortek, Inc. NTK announced Wednesday, that it has signed an agreement and plan of merger to be acquired by Melrose and Nevada Corp., a newly created wholly owned subsidiary of Melrose for $86.00 per share in cash, for an estimated total enterprise value of approximately $2.8 billion. Nevada Corp. will conduct an all-cash tender offer for 100% of Nortek's common stock and if successful, will merge with and into Nortek, resulting in Nortek becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Melrose. The deal closing is subject to Nortek stockholders validly tendering more than 50% of the outstanding shares of Nortek common stock prior to the expiration of the Offer. Nortek closed at $86.58 on Wednesday, up 38.42%. Danone Near Deal to Acquire WhiteWave Foods for ~$10B The Rumor:
France's Danone DANOY, maker of Dannon Yogurt, is near a deal to acquire WhiteWave Foods WWAV, according to a Financial Times report on Wednesday. The expected approximately $10 billion offer would value WhiteWave at around $56 per share. Sources say a deal could be announced on Thursday. WhiteWave Foods closed at $47.43 on Wednesday, up $0.44.
