IMMR Spiking; Reuters Reporting ITC Has Said Respondents In Company Complaint Probe Are Apple, AT&T Mobility

Shares of Immersion Corporation IMMR spiked higher Tuesday afternoon on heavy volume after Reuters reported that the U.S. International Trade Commission began a patent infringement investigation into the import and sale of several portable electronic devices that make use of haptic technology.

Reuters noted the investigation was based on a complaint that Immersion had filed with the agency. The publication added that names such as Apple Inc. AAPL and AT&T Inc. T's mobility unit were identified as respondents.

Shares of Immersion were trading higher by 1.38 percent at $6.63 mid-Tuesday afternoon following the Reuters report.
