Comcast goes full-tilt behind its new summer film "The Secret Life Of Pets." On Monday, Comcast
CMCSA
and Chrysler revealed a massive partnership that will enlist a number of the media giant's properties with the new model of a top car company. Under the deal Chrysler, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment will release "multi-episode custom content pieces" to tie into the summer tentpole release "The Secret Life Of Pets." The super-charged ads will promote the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and the newest animated feature from the studio that brought you "Despicable Me" and last year's big hit "Minions." The deal also includes a pact with NBC late night host Seth Meyers as the human star of the ads along with his dog Frisbee. This new partnership comes just a little while before the annual upfront presentation week in mid-May where all the major networks sell their new programming to advertisers. For the first time in years NBC will merge its broadcast and cable divisions into one presentation as a way to show off the brand synergy.
