Gain Capital Holdings' OTC Average Daily Volume Drops 23%

indicated, in a statement, that its OTC average daily volume dropped 23.0% to $11.6 billion. Sequentially too, the volume dipped 11.9%, according to the company. Similarly, its trading volume also fell 19.5% on a YOY basis and 3.5% from February. Its active OTC accounts witnessed 37.9% drop from the year-ago month and 5.0% from the preceding month. Gain Capital Holdings' CEO, Glenn Stevens, said that "The increase in volatility we saw in the latter half of Q4 2015 continued into Q1 2016 which resulted in GAIN's retail revenue per million tracking roughly 10% above our Q4 2015 levels". Stevens added that "In addition, retail volume generated from the indirect business represented 46% of total retail OTC trading volume in the quarter." The company's other divisions such as futures segment metrics, and institutional segment metrics also faced a similar situation in March. Shares of the company ended Friday's trading with 1.59% gain.
