Worst Performing Industries For March 10, 2016


The Dow rose 0.33 percent to 17,056.90, while the NASDAQ composite index gained 0.38 percent to 4,692.21. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index climbed 0.32 percent to 1,995.69.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Grocery Stores: This industry declined 1.5 percent by 11:00 am with Smart & Final Stores Inc (NYSE: SFS) moving down 3.9 percent. Smart & Final Stores reported upbeat results for its fourth quarter, but the company issued a weak forecast for FY16.

Insurance Brokers: This industry fell 1 percent by 11:00 am ET. CNinsure Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ: CISG) shares dropped 0.8 percent in today's trading. CNinsure's PEG ratio is 2.55.

Life Insurance: The industry dropped 1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Genworth Financial Inc (NYSE: GNW), which declined 2.7 percent. Genworth Financial shares have dropped 62.20 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 3.71 percent in the same period.

Rental & Leasing Services: This industry slipped 0.9 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was AeroCentury Corp. (NYSE: ACY), which fell 6.5 percent.
