CCL Industries Inc. announced Wednesday, that it will acquire Checkpoint Systems, Inc.

for $10.15 per share in cash, for a transaction valued at approximately $556 million. The deal is expected to close in mid-2016. Checkpoint Systems closed at $10.17 on Wednesday, up 29%.
ARMOUR Residential REIT to Acquire JAVELIN Mortgage Investment for $7.14/ShareThe Deal

announced Wednesday, the signing of a definitive merger agreement, under which ARMOUR will acquire JAVELIN. Under the terms of the agreement, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ARMOUR will commence a tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of JAVELIN common stock for an amount in cash per share equal to 87% of the book value per share of JAVELIN common stock, currently $84.7 million or $7.14 per share. JAVELIN Mortgage closed at $7.04 on Wednesday, up 17.33%.

that DuPont

was considering an offer to acquire to the Swiss seed company, according to a filing. The filing does not name Syngenta, but mentions former CEO Ellen Kullman traveled to Geneva for a meeting with a "a large publicly-traded company in the agricultural sciences industry." Syngenta in February agreed to be acquire by ChemChina for $43 billion. Syngenta closed at $81.18 on Wednesday, down $0.19.
