Report: Taiwan Semiconductor's Production Of 16nm Chips To Double In March

Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd. (ADR)TSM
could see its monthly output capacity on its 16nm process technology to grow to 80,000 12-inch wafers in March from just 40,000 units in February. DigiTimes, citing remarks from Taiwan Semiconductor's co-CEO CC Wei, added that the company's share of the 14/16nm foundry market segment will rise above 70 percent in 2016 from around 40 percent in 2015.
Apple Inc.AAPL
is reportedly among the company's major 16nm customers, the report also noted.
