Apple Inc.

is said to be bringing its personal assistant technology Siri to Mac, according to a report on 9to5 Mac. Apple currently plans to use its next major release of the Mac operating system, known as OS X 10.12, this fall to continue to expand Siri across its product lines. Apple is expected to introduce OS X 10.12 in June at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the report said. The report from Mark Gurman, who has a solid track record on Apple rumors, said Siri for the Mac will live in the Mac's Menu Bar rather than a full screen view like on the iPhone and iPad Pro. Similar to the Spotlight magnifying glass icon for search and notifications icon for Notification Center, a Siri icon in the top right corner of the menu bar will activate the voice control feature, the report added. Siri, which stands for Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface, was originally introduced as an iOS application available in the App Store by Siri Inc., which was acquired by Apple in April 2010. It was first introduced on iPhone 4S in October 2011 and later added to iPad in May 2012. Last year, Apple introduced Siri in Apple Watch and new Apple TV.
