Worst Performing Industries For February 5, 2016

The Dow fell 0.71 percent to 16,299.68, while the NASDAQ composite index tumbled 1.70 percent to 4,432.96. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 1.01 percent to 1,896.12.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Movie Production, Theaters: This industry declined 8.7 percent by 11:00 am with Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (USA) (NYSE: LGF) moving down 28 percent. Lions Gate reported downbeat results for its fiscal third quarter on Thursday.

Application Software: This industry fell 4.1 percent by 11:00 am ET. ePlus Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUS) shares dropped 27 percent in today's trading. ePlus reported Q3 earnings of $1.64 per share on revenue of $298.6 million.

Catalog & Mail Order Houses: The industry dropped 3.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was EVINE Live Inc (NASDAQ: EVLV), which declined 6.7 percent. EVINE Live shares have dropped 84.55 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has slipped 6.81 percent in the same period.

General Entertainment: This industry slipped 3.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Qunar Cayman Islands Ltd (NASDAQ: QUNR), which fell 6.1 percent.
