, a provider of cyber-security software and tools, surged higher by more than 8 percent early Thursday morning after the company was
awarded
a new patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Finjan Holdings said that the USPTO has granted its subsidiary, Finjan, Inc., with US Patent No. 9,219,755 which covers malicious mobile code run-time monitoring systems and methods. Finjan Holdings added that it now owns more than 40 patents and pending applications worldwide. With Finjan's migration into the world of security for mobile devices, it's quite satisfying to see our innovations, which began more than 20 years ago, continue to be recognized by the US Patent Office as 'State of the Art," Finjan's President and CEO, Phil Harstein said in the company's press release.
