Worst Performing Industries For October 15, 2015


The Dow rose 0.56 percent to 17,018.98, while the NASDAQ composite index climbed 0.85 percent to 4,823.63. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.62 percent to 2,006.61.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Consumer Services: This industry declined 1.5 percent by 11:00 am with Student Transportation Inc (NASDAQ: STB) moving down 0.7 percent. Student Transportation's trailing-twelve-month ROE is 2.01 percent.

Cement: The industry dropped 0.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Eagle Materials, Inc. (NYSE: EXP), which declined 1.5 percent. Eagle Materials is expected to release Q2 financial results on October 26, 2015.

Diversified Computer Systems: This industry tumbled 0.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ), which fell 1.1 percent. Barclays initiated coverage on Hewlett-Packard with a Underweight rating and a $26.00 price target.

Industrial Metals & Minerals: This industry fell 0.5 percent by 11:00 am ET. HORSEHEAD HOLDING CORP. (NASDAQ: ZINC) shares dropped 9.3 percent in today's trading. Horsehead Holding is expected to release its Q3 earnings on November 9, 2015.
