US Stock Futures Dip Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. Data on durable goods orders for August, weekly jobless claims and the Chicago Fed National Activity Index for August will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Data on new home sales for August will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 130 points to 16,057.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 15.50 points to 1,913.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 39.50 points to 4,223.25.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 0.97 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 1.26 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 2.08 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 1.59 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.06 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dipped 2.76 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.97 percent, China's Composite Index Index gained 0.86 percent and India's BSE Sensex gained 0.16 percent.
