US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 41 points to 16,378.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 6.75 points to 1,957.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 16 points to 4,331.25.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.25 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.21 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.33 percent. French CAC 40 Index surged 0.30 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.46 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average declined 1.63 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.27 percent, China's Composite Index Index dropped 2.67 percent and India's BSE Sensex jumped 0.96 percent.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals IncorporatedVRTX
from Equal-weight to Overweight and raised the price target from $120.00 to $150.00. Vertex Pharmaceuticals shares gained 1.73 percent to $136.38 in pre-market trading.
