US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on durable goods orders for July will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 238.5 points to 15,957.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 30.70 points to 1,903.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index surged 59.80 points to 4,088.30.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 1.24 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 1.46 percent and German DAX 30 index declining 0.91 percent. French CAC 40 Index dropped 1.21 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 1.16 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 3.20 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 1.52 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dipped 1.27 percent and India's BSE Sensex dropped 1.22 percent.
