Apple Inc AAPL has announced that a limited number of iPhone 6’s may have faulty hardware that is producing blurry photos. On its website, Apple has notified owners of devices within the applicable serial number range can have the cameras replaced on their phones for free.

The details
Apple has said that certain iPhone 6s sold between September 2014 and January 2015 may have defective iSight cameras that take fuzzy photos. These potential defaults apply only to the outward-facing camera and not the “selfie” camera.

Is your phone affected?
If your phone was purchased during the timeframe mentioned above and is taking fuzzy photos, here’s what you need to do: go to “Settings>General>About” on your iPhone and find the serial number of your device. Enter that serial number on this website to see if your phone is eligible for the free camera swap.

If your phone is affected, take it to an authorized service provider or Apple store or contact technical support to set up a time to get your device fixed. Apple emphasizes that wireless carriers are not able to provide the repairs.

Stock plays
It remains to be seen if this is the extent of the hardware issues for Apple. For now, it appears as if the blame rests on iSight supplier Sony Corp SNE. Shares of Sony are down more than 5.0 percent during the market sell-off on Monday. However, Apple shares have bounce back into positive territory after opening the week below $95 per share. Shares of the world’s largest public company remain down nearly 20 percent over the past three months on fears about weak iPhone demand in China.
