Foresight Energy Reentry Plan Approved For Deer Run Mine

("Foresight") reported today that the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration ("MSHA") and the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Office of Mines and Minerals ("IDNR") have approved Foresight's plan to reenter and restore power to a portion of the Deer Run Mine. This will allow Foresight personnel to evaluate the ventilation and longwall mining systems and to address any needed rehabilitation to the underground facilities. This approval came after a thorough evaluation of the Mine atmosphere by Foresight, MSHA, and IDNR officials. Mine personnel will continue to monitor air quality in accordance with sampling protocols, as required by the reentry plan. Foresight continues to work with regulatory agencies for the purpose of fully resuming normal mining operations at the Deer Run Mine.
