US Stock Futures Surge Ahead Of Jobless Claims

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on weekly jobless claims and consumer spending for May will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The PMI services flash for June will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the Kansas City Fed composite manufacturing index for June will be released at 11:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 68.5 points to 17,951.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 7.15 points to 2,106.65. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index surged 16.95 points to 4,532.70.

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index gaining 0.07 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.11 percent and German DAX 30 index rising 0.11 percent. French CAC 40 Index gained 0.03 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.20 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.46 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slipped 0.95 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dipped 3.46 percent and India's BSE Sensex climbed 0.60 percent.

Analysts at Citigroup downgraded

from Buy to Neutral. Netflix shares fell 0.97 percent to $672.00 in pre-market trading.
