Aerohive noted in its press release that rising demand for schools to deliver "21st century learning" has resulted in rising demand for smart devices and better networking infrastructure to deliver secure, fast and reliable wireless access. The company's controller-less, WLAN architecture allows for simple, cost-effective deployment of cloud-enabled, distributed Wi-Fi and routing solutions. This is necessary for highly distributed education environments with limited resources and IT budgets, according to Aerohive. Aerohive's relationship with Apple dates back to October 2014 when the company was selected by Apple to join its $100 million contribution to ConnectED, a US government initiative to empower teachers with technology and training to deliver a superior education. Aerohive is the only Wi-Fi infrastructure that worked with Apple. "The partnership with Apple is the latest demonstration of how Aerohive, which has a 100 percent channel sales model, is expanding its reach by aligning with large brands and resellers to address the market for reliable, scalable networks that can be cost-effectively deployed," the company further noted in its press release.
