. GM has already begun to roll out its own version of connected cars through its OnStar vehicle service, which traditionally gave drivers access to live operators for directions and emergency services.
Targeted Audience
AT&T's connected car service could provide a new opportunity for content creators and advertisers, as the service would have a lot of insight into the people viewing the content. The car makers have vast knowledge about the type of people buying their products, making it easier for AT&T to target specific demographics with particular games and shows. The company is hoping to tailor the offerings based on the car model and even offer data specific to a user's particular car, like vehicle service updates.
