US Stock Futures Surge Ahead Of Housing-Starts Data

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on housing starts for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 52 points to 18,311.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 5.45 points to 2,131.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 15.95 points to 4,523.20.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 1.35 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 1.18 percent and German DAX 30 index rising 1.71 percent. French CAC 40 Index climbed 1.69 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.31 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.68 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index climbed 3.13 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.37 percent and India's BSE Sensex slipped 0.15 percent.

from Outperform to Market Perform and lowered the price target from $44.00 to $35.00. Urban Outfitters shares dipped 15.42 percent to $34.44 in pre-market trading.
