Worst Performing Industries For April 20, 2015


The Dow jumped 1.46 percent to 18,086.45, while the NASDAQ composite index rose 1.18 percent to 4,989.95. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index climbed 1.08 percent to 2,103.71.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Silver: The industry dropped 1.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was First Majestic Silver Corp (NYSE: AG), which declined 2.7 percent. Silver futures fell 2.21 percent to $15.87 an ounce.

General Entertainment: This industry declined 0.8 percent by 11:00 am with Viggle Inc (NASDAQ: VGGL) moving down 6.4 percent. Viggle shares have dropped 90.46 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.18 percent in the same period.

Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry tumbled 0.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR), which fell 6 percent. Alpha Natural Resources' PEG ratio is -0.07.

Cement: This industry fell 0.7 percent by 11:00 am ET. James Hardie Industries plc (ADR) (NYSE: JHX) shares dropped 1.2 percent in today's trading. James Hardie's trailing-twelve-month EPS is $0.17.
