US Stock Futures Rise Ahead Of Earnings, Jobless Claims
US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the FHFA house price index for November will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 36 points to 17,527.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 4.40 points to 2,031.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 5.50 points to 4,188.25.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.63%, STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.02% and German DAX 30 index falling 0.15%. French CAC 40 Index declined 0.07% and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.33%.
In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.28%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.70%, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 0.59% and India's Sensex jumped 0.41%.
Analysts at Baird downgraded Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR) from Outperform to Neutral and lowered the price target from $74.00 to $65.00..
Emerson Electric's shares rose 0.83% to close at $60.98 yesterday.
