Unusual Call Activity in Amkor Technology


This week saw unusual activity in Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMKR) options. On Thursday, there was a trade of 3,878 of the January $7 call contracts at $0.30. On Friday, the bid was $0.45 at the close of trade.

On Tuesday, Amkor presented at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2014 Leveraged Finance Conference and on Wednesday at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference. Greg Johnson, Amkor's Senior Director for Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, said there was no news to account for the unusual activity. Johnson said the company's next big event is their earnings release in February.

Amkor provides semiconductor packaging and test services to semiconductor companies and electronics OEMs. Amkor shares closed Friday at $6.94, gaining 1.5%.
