according to the
New York Times. DreamWorks Animation is no stranger to buyout news. In September, Japan's SoftBank was in talks to acquire DreamWorks Animation for $32 per share, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Shares of DreamWorks Animation traded lower in the days following Hollywood Reporter's speculation. The Wall Street Journal reported that the acquisition discussions have “cooled” as the two companies may just form a deal or a content partnership. Shares of DreamWorks fell even further after SoftBank confirmed in early October it acquired a $250 million stake in Legendary Entertainment. The New York Times is reporting that talks between the companies “might still fall apart.” A possible reason could be DreamWorks Animation's CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg who is seeking more than $30 per share, a significant premium to Wednesday's closing price of $22.37.
