MoneyGram Increases Reach Across Mexico With Waldos Dolar Mart de Mexico


MoneyGram (NASDAQ: MGI), a leading global money transfer and payment services company, announces today that it is increasing its agent footprint across Mexico with Waldos Dólar Mart de Mexico. The new agent agreement enables customers to access MoneyGram's services at almost 300 convenient Waldos Dólar Mart de Mexico locations in both rural and urban areas.

"MoneyGram is working to expand throughout Mexico with strategic locations that offer easy accessibility to our customers," says Juan Agualimpia, MoneyGram's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "Waldos Dólar Mart de Mexico is a leading retail chain with prime locations. Our services will be available at these retail stores, making it easier and faster for our customers to send or receive funds."

The agreement is part of a company-wide strategy to bring more options to Mexico residents and expatriates. Mexico is the fourth-largest inbound remittance market in the world, with about $23 billion incoming annually from the U.S. alone according to The World Bank.

Founded in 1999, Waldos Dólar Mart de Mexico is one of the country's top-selling retail chains, owning and operating stores that offer pharmacies and a range of consumer products.
