US Stock Futures Edge Higher; Crude Oil Rises

US stock futures traded slightly higher in early pre-market trade. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 24 points to 17,525.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 2.90 points to 2,028.90. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 10 points to 4,160.75. Crude oil futures surged 1.17% to trade at $79.57 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index gaining 0.54%, STOXX Europe 600 Index rising 0.28%. German DAX 30 index climbed 0.31%, French CAC 40 Index jumped 0.38% and London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.41%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.59%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.83%, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 2.30% and India's Sensex rose 0.02%. China's CPI rose 1.6% y/y in October, unchanged versus September.
