On Friday,
Amazon.com Inc.AMZN
launched Amazon Dash, a product that allows Prime Fresh customers add groceries and good to their shopping list. The black and white magic wand allows users to scan barcodes of items or use the voice command feature to add goods via Wi-Fi to a smartphone or laptop. Amazon Dash automatically adds the items to the customer's basket on Amazon Fresh where the user can purchase the items and schedule delivery. Dash is currently offering free trials by invitation only to select number of Prime Fresh customers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Amazon Fresh, available in Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California, lets customers shop for over 500,000 Amazon items for same-day and early morning delivery. The device complements Amazon's launch of the Flow app in February. The Flow app identifies an object using the user's smartphone and reveals more information about the product including author, release date, calories, and more. Once identified, the item can be shared on social networks or bought directly from Amazon. Users can additionally scan and dial phone numbers from launch websites using Flow. Shares of Amazon closed at $323.00 on Friday.
