Sector Gainers And Losers For The Week Ending February 14, 2014

In the week ending February 14, 2014, all sectors were up. The sectors responded after Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen started off the week on an upbeat note.

The basic materials sector moved up about 5.12 percent for the total week, led by gains in AMCOL International ACO, which jumped $3.92 per share or 9.48 percent it now stands at $45.27. Another big gainer was Endeavour Silver EXK, which went up $0.45 or 8.74 percent to an aggregate total of 5.60. Some major losers include Silvercorp Metals SVM, which lost 12.73 percent of its market capitalization or $0.42 and now stands at 2.88, and Rentech Nitrogen Partners RNF, which lost $0.75 and now stands at $17.52.

The utilities sector moved up about 4.11 percent for the total week, which was led by gains in DTE Energy DTE, which jumped $2.16 per share or 3.10 percent and now stands at $71.73. Some major losers include American Midstream AMID, which lost 1.31 percent of its market capitalization or $0.33 per share.

The technology sector moved up about 4.25 percent for the total week, led by gains in Cray CRAY, which jumped a staggering $11.69 per share or 39.01 percent and now stands at $41.66. Another big gainer was LogMeIn LOGM, which lept up $7.21 or 21.67 percent to an aggregate total of $41.66. Some major losers include MakeMyTrip MMYT, which lost 7.63 percent of its market capitalization or $2.04 and now stands at $24.71. Incontact SAAS lost $0.43 and now stands at $8.78.

The healthcare sector moved up about 5.44 percent for the total week, led by gains in LCA-Vision LCAV, which jumped $1.19 per share or 28.0 percent and now stands at $5.44. Another big gainer was Fonar FONR, which went up $4.55 or 25.14 percent to an aggregate total of 22.65. Some major losers include Galena Biopharma GALE, which lost 14.35 percent of its market capitalization or $0.62 and now stands at $3.73, and Prana Bioechnology PRAN, which lost $.89 and now stands at $17.52.
