Shares of Revolution Lighting Technologies

surged higher early Tuesday on unconfirmed market chatter the Cree

would announce an acquisition of the LED lighting company. A spokesperson for Cree declined comment on the rumor. A Revolution Lighting spokesperson was not available for comment. Revolution Lighting closed Tuesday at $4.24, a gain of almost 4.5%, but fell 5.5% after-hours.
