Shares of BlackBerry

spiked higher Tuesday afternoon on a report from

that private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management signed an NDA with the Canadian handset maker to obtain the company's financial records. According to sources, Cerberus is considering purchasing the entire company. BlackBerry announced the signing of a letter of intent with Fairfax Capital on September 23, under which Fairfax would acquire BlackBerry for $9.00 per share. Spokespersons for BlackBerry and Cerberus were not available for comment. BlackBerry closed Tuesday at $8.15, a gain of $0.01.

announced Tuesday it had acquired Russian-language entertainment site,

. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Yandex closed at $38.59 Tuesday, a gain of $0.23.

. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. TripAdvisor closed at $73.87 Tuesday, a loss of 1.5%.
