Icahn Enterprises (NYSE: IEP), the investment firm controlled by Carl Icahn announced that they will use the official twitter of Carl Icahn to release "material, non-public information." His twitter handle is @Carl_C_Icahn.

New Positions And Investment Ideas On Twitter

In an SEC filing, the company noted that it was adopting the new SEC rules which allow companies to disclose information on social media sites. They noted that they will disclose information including new positions on Icahn's twitter, which already has over 25,000 followers after he joined twitter on June 20.

"Our Chairman, Carl C. Icahn, intends to use Twitter from time to time to communicate with the public about our company and other issues," the company said. "It is possible that the information that Mr. Icahn posts on Twitter (which may include information regarding companies in which we and/or Mr. Icahn have or may be contemplating an investment position) could be deemed to be material information."

History Of Tweets

As the news almost confirms that Icahn will release his next stock pick on his twitter handle shortly, Benzinga looks back at Icahn's twitter history and his most infamous tweets.

On June 20, Icahn announced his arrival on twitter in a rather sarcastic manner, likening his attitude towards twitter to his thesis on Dell (NASDAQ: DELL). Icahn is still caught in a legal battle with CEO Michael Dell over control of computer maker.

On July 24, Icahn went further in his assault on the Dell board by tweeting this funny little poem that he concocted.
