Active Power
ACPW
, manufacturer of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and modular infrastructure solutions, is set to join the Russell Microcap® Index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes on June 28, 2013, according to a preliminary list of additions on www.russell.com/indexes. Membership in the Russell Microcap Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market capitalization rankings and style attributes. "We are pleased with our anticipated membership to the Russell Microcap Index," said Doug Milner, president and CEO, at Active Power. "We believe inclusion in the Russell Microcap would expand Active Power's visibility to a broad range of institutional investors. It is gratifying that our efforts in positioning Active Power for continued growth and improved profitability have been recognized by Russell." Annual reconstitution of Russell Indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization to create the Russell 3000® Index and Russell Microcap Index. The indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. Final membership lists will be posted July 1, 2013. For total returns data for the Russell Microcap and other Russell Indexes, click here.
