A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 17 points to 14,077.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 3.20 points to 1,519.00. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 6 points to 2,746.50.

European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.59%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.44%, French CAC 40 Index rose 0.37% and German DAX 30 index climbed 0.74%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average declining 1.27%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.87% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.62%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.25% and India's Sensex rose 0.72%.

Analysts at Wells Fargo downgraded Groupon

from “outperform” to “market perform.” The target price range for Groupon has been lowered from $6-$7 to $5-$6. Groupon shares tumbled 27.29% to $4.35 in pre-market trading.
